MailChimp Email Marketing Service Review

MailChimp is a service that can help you manage your email marketing campaigns. It has many great features and functions that are suitable to both beginners and advanced Internet marketers. While it has many of the same benefits as popular autoresponder services such as AWeber and GetResponse, it has the advantage of being free (at least for the basic service).

MailChimp email marketing service

In this article, we’ll be covering some of the features and benefits of MailChimp to help you decide if it’s a tool that might be helpful for your email marketing campaigns.

Who is MailChimp

The main advantage of MailChimp is that it allows you to easily set up newsletters. It gives you easy-to-use tools for every step of the process, from sign-up forms to tracking your results.

If you have never built an email list before, you should understand that it’s one of the best ways to create a large number of loyal customers. Yet many beginners are intimidated by the technical aspect of building a list.

You can create an opt-in form and give people an incentive to sign up. You then have to manage the list, and figure out how to automate it. Otherwise, it will get very tedious manually sending each and every email.

The most popular solution to automating email marketing is the service known as an autoresponder. These allow you to easily create opt-in forms to sign people up, templates for your emails and newsletters and tools to send your emails on a schedule.

Most autoresponder services charge a monthly fee of around $20. Some will give you a brief free trial, but after that you have to pay the regular amount. MailChimp is one of the few services that has a long term free option.

MailChimp features

Some of the notable features of MailChimp include:

  • Create Customized Signup Form

    MailChimp subscription form

Your signup or opt-in form is where your email campaign starts. With MailChimp, you can create a customized form that matches your business or website. It can be integrated with your website. This makes it easy for you to start collecting email addresses from your website visitors.

  • Customizable Email Templates

When you send out your newsletter, you want it to have a professional and distinctive look. MailChimp gives you a choice of templates that can be tailored to your purposes. There are both pre-made templates and ones you can build from scratch if you want something really unique.

If you are comfortable with html, you can code your own emails using MailChimp’s template language. If you’re not familiar with coding, you can simply work with the templates that are provided for you.

  • Facebook Integration

Many people today use Facebook to build their email lists. This can work just as well, or even better, than a website. MailChimp provides tools that enable people to sign up to your list from Facebook! They can also “like” and share your campaigns.

  • Track Your Campaigns

    MailChimp tracking

Tracking is extremely important for email marketing. This is how you learn what is and isn’t working so you can make changes in the future. With MailChimp, you get free reports that tell you important metrics such as who is clicking on your links and opening your emails.

You can get reports on Android and iPhone, as well as integrate your campaigns with Google Analytics. These tools will help you fine tune your email marketing campaigns and make them more profitable.

MailChimp Plans and Pricing

When deciding whether or not to try a service, you have to consider the cost. If you want to succeed at any type of business, you need certain tools. Email marketing is cheap compared to most other types of marketing.

Compared to direct mail, for example, where you have to pay postage costs, email marketing is a real bargain. Even here, however, you need certain tools. MailChimp is one place where you can get just about all the tools you need.

There are a few different plans to choose from when you sign up with MailChimp.

  • Forever Free

This is the free plan, and like the name suggests, it’s not simply a free trial but permanently free. It does place certain limits on your account. You must have fewer than 2,000 subscribers and send no more than 12,000 emails per month.

If you are just starting out, the free MailChimp plan will probably be all you need. As your list gets bigger, you can always upgrade. This allows you to save money and start an email list without spending any money upfront!

  • Pay As You Go

This is a plan where you purchase credits that can be used to send out mailings. The more credits you buy, the cheaper they get. You can pay $9 for 300 credits, $30 for 1,000 credits all the way up to $250 for $250,000 credits (which comes to only a penny per credit). This plan is good for you if you were doing large, but infrequent mailings.

  • Monthly Plans

If you want to send out regular newsletters, and have higher volume than the free plan allows, this is your best choice. You pay for the number of subscribers you have, while you’re allowed unlimited emails.

The monthly cost is $10 for up to 500 subscribers, $15 for up to 1,000, all the way up to $240 for up to 50,000. Again, unlike the free plan, there are no restrictions on the number of emails sent.

  • High Volume

If you have more than 50,000 subscribers, you can contact MailChimp for a quote. At this level, your list will probably be quite profitable and it will be well worth it to invest in a high volume plan.

Conclusion

MailChimp provides you with all the resources you need to send out email newsletters. Whether you are building your first list or you are simply looking for a new email or autoresponder service, MailChimp has a lot to offer.

This is a useful service for beginners and those on a limited budget, as you can start off with the Forever Free plan. This lets you test the waters and build up your list. By the time you need a larger plan, you will probably be able to afford it without any worries.

If you want to succeed with your online business, email marketing is one of the most effective ways to do it. MailChimp makes it simple to get started!

Mailchimp is awesome for Opt In subscriber newsletters. They work great and I have never had any issues the only problem is that you cannot use purchased lists. I know many people say this is a big no no but I often get better results from targeted lists that I buy from data.com.

  3. What matters in the end is the customer base that increases the popularity and reputation of an organization. Email can be considered as the first step towards that goal.
